The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley sits on 214 acres in Winchester, Virginia, making it the largest green space in the city and pairing a 50,000-square-foot museum building — designed by architect Michael Graves — with the historic Glen Burnie House and six acres of formal gardens. Glen Burnie House, built in 1794, was transformed into a refined home by Julian Wood Glass Jr. and R. Lee Taylor beginning in the 1950s before the museum itself opened in 2005 to share their collection with the public. For private events, the museum offers a range of indoor and outdoor spaces suited to gatherings of different sizes and styles. The beautifully renovated Glen Burnie House, with its formal Drawing Room, Library, and adjacent Terrace, suits an intimate dinner or cocktail reception, with access extended to the surrounding garden rooms. The Glen Burnie Gardens themselves offer settings from the Grand Allee to the more intimate Water Garden for ceremonies and receptions. Inside the museum, the wood-beamed Reception Hall and adjoining lobby and hallways can host larger cocktail-style events, while the Truist Learning Center and Carriage House Classroom provide smaller spaces for meetings, workshops, and luncheons. The museum is a site-only rental, so caterers, tents, and event equipment are arranged through outside vendors, including members of the Shenandoah Wedding Professionals group that the museum regularly partners with.

Barn at Edgewood is a family-run wedding venue on a farm in Stanardsville, Virginia, near Charlottesville and Shenandoah National Park. The property has been in the Winslow family since 1978, and the 1884 farmhouse still stands on the land where the family once raised beef cattle. About a decade ago, the family converted an old pole barn into an event space, hosting their own daughter's wedding there before opening the venue to other couples. The barn hosts up to 150 guests for a wedding weekend, with exclusive use of the property from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning. Couples can hold their ceremony outdoors beneath a 200-year-old oak tree or by the pond, or indoors with the barn doors open, and reception inside the climate-controlled barn with heating and air conditioning. Two suites above the barn, Riverside and Fieldside, serve as bridal-party dressing rooms on the wedding day and can also be booked for overnight stays. Barn at Edgewood hosts a limited number of weddings each year, and requires couples to work with a professional wedding planner and a licensed, full-service caterer.

    Vanish Farmwoods Brewery

    Leesburg, VA, USA

In 2014, Jonathan Staples established Black Hops Farm with the intention of supplying locally grown hops to Virginia's burgeoning alcohol sector. This was the farm's primary motivation. This would be beneficial not just to the beverage sector but also to the agriculture in the area since it would encourage further hop growing. Given the importance of hops to the operation, it was a foregone conclusion that the property should include a brewery. Consequently, the Vanish Farmwoods Brewery came into being! Located in the picturesque town of Lucketts, Virginia lies the 63-acre farm and brewery known as Vanish. It has a reputation for having tasty beer as well as a chill atmosphere. We aim on providing you beer that is plant-to-pint and seed-to-sip in nature by making use of local ingredients wherever possible. In our enormous taproom, we have up to twenty different beers pouring from the taps at any given moment. We provide a large amount of outdoor space with picturesque views, in addition to a number of event planning choices suitable for gatherings of varying sizes. We have several private rooms available for use during special events such as weddings, corporate meetings, team building outings, celebrations and parties, rehearsal dinners, meet and greets, reunions, and fundraisers.
