Hopemont, the Hunt-Morgan House, is a Federal-style mansion completed in 1814 for John Wesley Hunt at the southwestern corner of Gratz Park in historic downtown Lexington, Kentucky. Built during the era when Lexington was known as "The Athens of the West," the property is distinguished by its elegant proportions, leaded side-light entryway, elliptical fanlight, and a Palladian window centered above the main facade — hallmarks of accomplished early-19th-century craftsmanship. The house is stewardship of the Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation, the organization founded in 1955 specifically to prevent its demolition. Today it serves as the Blue Grass Trust's headquarters and as a house museum, and it is available for private event rental, including weddings, receptions, and art exhibitions. The Hunt-Morgan family produced some of Kentucky's most notable historical figures: John Wesley Hunt, the state's first millionaire; a Confederate general; and Dr. Thomas Hunt Morgan, Kentucky's first Nobel Prize laureate.

Built between 1790 and 1794 on what was then America's frontier, the property served as home to Major William and Lucy Clark Croghan and drew some of the young nation's most prominent figures — Presidents James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, and Zachary Taylor among them. A 1907 expansion added the distinctive Rathskeller, decorated with one-of-a-kind Rookwood Pottery. The hotel's connection to F. Scott Fitzgerald — who drew inspiration from its glamorous surroundings for characters in "The Great Gatsby" — has made it a Louisville landmark. The hotel offers six distinct event spaces ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale receptions. The Medallion Ballroom, at 8,678 square feet with 20-foot ceilings and grand chandeliers, is the largest ballroom of its kind in Kentucky and accommodates up to 450 seated guests. The Grand Ballroom, with its turn-of-the-century gold and cobalt décor and crystal chandeliers, seats up to 250. The Galt House Hotel has stood at the center of Louisville's waterfront since 1972, when developer Al J. Schneider opened the modern property on the banks of the Ohio River. Its roots run deeper still — the original Galt House opened in 1835 on Second and Main Streets, and the name has been woven into Louisville's civic life for nearly two centuries. The current two-tower structure, completed with the addition of the East Tower in 1984, is the largest hotel in Kentucky and holds the distinction of being Louisville's only waterfront hotel. For events, the property offers more than 130,000 square feet across 53 meeting rooms, two grand ballrooms, and an exhibit hall — a range that accommodates everything from intimate gatherings to receptions of 1,600 guests. The in-house culinary and catering team handles food and beverage for on-site events, and a dedicated AV partnership through Pinnacle Live supports hybrid and live-streamed productions. Seven on-site restaurants and bars, including Walker's Exchange and Jockey Silks Bourbon Bar, serve as natural settings for rehearsal dinners and post-event gatherings. The hotel sits within walking distance of the KFC Yum! Center — connected via an indoor skywalk — and is steps from Waterfront Park, Fourth Street Live!, and Louisville's Museum Row, giving event guests easy access to the city's broader entertainment district.

For events, the hotel offers more than 30,000 square feet across 17 flexible function spaces, accommodating groups from 6 to 600 guests. The Crystal Ballroom anchors the property's event program, having hosted Louisville's most prominent celebrations for over a century. Additional rooms — including ballrooms, boardrooms, and breakout spaces — allow the hotel to host everything from intimate dinners to large-scale corporate conferences. The culinary program is a genuine part of the experience: The Brown Hotel is the birthplace of the Hot Brown, the open-faced turkey sandwich created here in the 1920s that has become a Kentucky institution.
