    Wild Ginger Bellevue

11020 NE 6th St, Bellevue, WA 98004, USA
    • Spaces for 130 Guests

Wild Ginger Bellevue sits right on Bellevue Way NE, next door to the Bellevue Arts Museum and just across the street from Bellevue Square mall, in the Lincoln Square South stretch of downtown Bellevue. The restaurant moved into this address in 2017, a smaller footprint than its original Bellevue home at The Bravern, where it first opened in 2009 to mark parent restaurant Wild Ginger's 20th anniversary. Inside, SKB Architects designed the space to blend Asian influences with a more contemporary look, giving the room a casual but still dressed-up feel, with a main dining room, a bar, and private dining space set apart for events. The kitchen, led by Chef de Cuisine Milan Waduge, serves family-style dishes rooted in the cuisines of China and Southeast Asia, the same style Wild Ginger's founders picked up traveling through Malaysia, Burma, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong back in the 1980s. The wine program has drawn recognition for how well it pairs with the menu, and bottles under $100 are half off on Sundays. Private dining and group meals are booked separately from the main dining room, so a party can be as small as an intimate dinner or as large as a bigger group reception.

The lodge's wrap-around veranda frames one of the most complete views of Mount Rainier in the Nisqually River Valley, and a private dock along the shoreline accommodates boats or an evening spent fishing. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1974, the lodge has passed through more than a century of uses — from a wilderness retreat for Seattle's early-1900s elite to a political and business retreat under the West Fork Logging Company — before opening as a bed-and-breakfast in 2004. Eight individually themed guest rooms can be booked separately or reserved together for a full lodge buyout, making the property a basecamp for weddings, family reunions, and retreats near Mount Rainier National Park. The lakeside grounds host outdoor wedding ceremonies with the mountain as a backdrop, followed by receptions in the lodge's Reception Hall, which opens onto a deck overlooking the lake and a two-acre meadow. Warm Springs Inn & Winery traces its roots to 2006, when the Szmania family purchased a 20-acre farm and pear orchard along the Wenatchee River. Two years later they planted rows of Sangiovese, Syrah, and Merlot, and by 2012 had brought in their first harvest, with early vintages made under the guidance of winemaker John Patterson at Patterson Cellars in Woodinville. In 2013, the family expanded into hospitality, purchasing the historic 9,000-square-foot mansion on the property's 10 riverfront acres and reopening it as an inn in April 2014. Today, BCV wines are produced in small batches on-site in Wenatchee, from harvest through crush, fermentation, and bottling — eight wines in all, including Merlot, Syrah, Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc blends, and a Rubi Reserve Port, several of which have won medals at the North Central Washington Wine Awards. Set between Wenatchee and Leavenworth and surrounded by cherry orchards and old-growth trees, the inn offers six guest suites, a wine bar and tasting room overlooking the river, and grounds that host both intimate indoor weddings and riverfront outdoor celebrations for up to 250 guests. Chef and owner Ludger Szmania prepares breakfast for guests each morning.
