The property has been farmed continuously since 1784 — one of the earliest homestead farms in the region — and includes a structure built in 1789 that still stands on its original foundation. In 2015, Isaac and Jennifer Howe transformed the working farm into an event venue; the Forsyth Family Farm now manages farming operations through a conservation partnership with Land for Good. At the heart of the property is the Howe Barn, a timber-framed structure built from scratch using mature white pine harvested from the farm's own forests, then milled, fitted, and raised on site by Andy and Isaac Howe alongside master timber framer Trevor Kupetz.
