    Moise Safra Center

    New York, NY, USA

Being Jewish is the foundation upon which the Moise Safra Center was built. It is not only an identity into which we are born; rather, it is a heritage that we should be proud of and treasure. The Center is dedicated to fostering Jewish ideals and fostering an unwavering love for the state of Israel. Both tzedakah and chesed play an essential role in the accomplishment of our purpose. By working together, we are able to bolster not just ourselves but also the Jewish people. When we talk about community at the Moise Safra Center, we talk about the past, the present, and the future. Both in terms of tradition and culture. Belonging and giving. A place of refuge that is secure, kind, and caring. In the years to come, we will continue to grow closer to one another as we celebrate important family milestones, go to and cheer at local sporting events, congregate at lectures and programs, and give our time to help others who are less fortunate. The study of Hebrew and the Torah, as well as Jewish values and beliefs, will be included into all of our regular programming and one-off events. Sephardim and Ashkenazim, who have historically prospered in their separate settings, will come together, therefore creating a fresh, inventive, and modern dialogue that will stretch and empower us. This conversation enlightens us, makes our lives more meaningful, strengthens our connections with one another, and fosters the growth of a community that is unparalleled in New York City.

The property spans six acres and includes a mix of historic outbuildings — a smokehouse, chicken coop, root cellar, and Quonset building — alongside natural landscapes that provide a backdrop of fields, wooded areas, and open sky. The venue operates seasonally from late April through late October and hosts weddings, receptions, private gatherings, corporate retreats, reunions, and group tours. Indoor ceremonies take place within the historic barn structure, while the property's grounds accommodate outdoor ceremonies in shaded areas or a starlit dance floor set in an open field. Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern occupies the historic Dodd-Hinsdale House at 330 Hillsborough Street in downtown Raleigh — an 1879 Second Empire Victorian property originally built for Mayor William H. Dodd, featuring fourteen-foot ceilings and deep bay windows. After the Hinsdale family held the estate for nearly ninety years, the building fell into disrepair following John Hinsdale's death in 1971. The Reynolds family acquired and fully restored the property in the mid-1990s, reopening it as a fine dining destination. The restaurant has earned the DiRoNa award twice, the AAA Four Diamond Award three times, and the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for eight consecutive years. Executive Chef Daniel Schurr leads the kitchen. The venue hosts weddings, rehearsal dinners, and private events across several spaces: formal dining rooms on the main floor, the casual Tavern downstairs with a climate-controlled wine cellar holding more than 250 labels, a glassed Atrium seating 42, and an intimate Chef's Table for up to four guests dining exclusively with the chef inside the kitchen itself.

McAlister-Leftwich House is a restored historic event venue in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina, comprising two nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century homes with over 150 years of combined local history. The McAlister House, built in 1915, exemplifies the architectural shift from Queen Anne to Colonial Revival design. The Leftwich House, constructed in 1875, is a Gothic Revival residence — one of only three remaining examples of that style in Greensboro — and holds National Landmark status. Together, the homes host weddings, engagement parties, vow renewals, corporate meetings, and private celebrations for up to 300 guests. Indoor spaces include The Gant, anchored by a bridal staircase in the original McAlister House; The Murphy and The Dixon, intimate rooms suited for cocktail hours and seated dinners; and The Hall, a connecting corridor with floor-to-ceiling windows and a checkered floor. Outdoors, The Lawn offers flexible open-air settings with the option to tent for weather contingencies. All rentals include exclusive access to both homes, tables, chairs, and two private getting-ready suites. • Spaces for 300 Guests

Fort Mifflin on the Delaware is a National Historic Landmark on Mud Island in the Delaware River near Philadelphia, established in 1775 and best known for withstanding what many historians consider the greatest bombardment of the American Revolution, a six-day siege in November 1777 that helped Washington's army reach Valley Forge safely. The fort later served through the Civil War and both World Wars before its decommissioning, and a nonprofit has stewarded the grounds as a landmark since 1986, maintaining the fort's 1777-1875 appearance. Today the fort hosts weddings, corporate events, charity fundraisers, and social gatherings across a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces. Its bombproof Casemates can be turned into a wine cellar or speakeasy-style setting, while the Hospital Building, Bunk Room, and a riverfront picnic area with working fireplaces serve as options for meetings and private functions. Special-event bookings can include cannon demonstrations, interpretive guides in period attire, weapons displays, and ghost tours for a distinctly historic atmosphere.

    Salt Creek Grille Rumson

4 Bingham Ave, Rumson, NJ 07760, USA
    • Spaces for 150 Guests

Years before our doors opened in July 1996, Tim McCune and his first business partner, Pete Truxaw, had a vision of opening a local restaurant that would be catered to the needs of their neighborhood. It was their aim to create a sophisticated yet informal American-themed grille where friends and family could gather to relax and have a memorable eating experience. They were successful. This fantasy was the inspiration for the establishment of Salt Creek Grille. Our culinary approach is based on the time-honored art of grilling meats over hot mesquite embers, which has been around for centuries. Our food is prepared with only the freshest meats, poultry, fish, and produce available, thanks to our commitment to ethical sourcing practices. We provide a selection of wines from boutique vineyards and well-known cellars that may be coupled with our meal to please both the expert and the novice taster. Our amazing panoramic view of the Navesink River serves as the perfect backdrop for the most spectacular private dinner occasion you could imagine. Your visitors will be able to take advantage of broad, crystal clear waterfront views thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows. The expansive grass by the river is the ideal site to greet guests as they arrive for a casual outdoor cocktail reception or wedding. Our waterfront position is surrounded by lush flora and leads to a private dock that we have built for ourselves. Weddings, rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, and other special events have all taken place on this pier, which has served as a gorgeous background for countless of excellent photo opportunities.

210 Water St W, Charlottesville, VA 22902, USA
    • Spaces for 100 Guests

The Space Downtown is a private event and dining venue in Charlottesville, Virginia, created in late 2010 by chefs and longtime business partners Tim Burgess and Vincent Derquenne. The building's history goes back further: the pair opened their first restaurant, Metropolitain, in the same location in 1991 and ran it until 2003, when they sold the restaurant but kept ownership of the building. When the space became vacant again in early 2010, Burgess and Derquenne reopened it exclusively for private parties, and it has operated as a dedicated event venue ever since. The chefs also own Bizou and Bang, two restaurants located nearby. Private dining is the venue's specialty, with a custom menu, floor plan, and atmosphere built around each event. The Space Downtown hosts full wedding weekends - rehearsal dinners, welcome receptions, wedding receptions, and farewell brunches - as well as corporate meetings and private functions, with the flexibility to shift from a seated dinner service to a cocktail reception without booking a separate space.

The Carnegie Building in Lawrence, Kansas, traces its origins to 1904, when a $27,000 grant from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie funded its construction as the city's public library. A PWA-funded addition followed in 1937, and the building served as Lawrence's public library until 1972. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 as the Old City Library, the same year the Lawrence Arts Center moved in. After a renovation by the Lawrence Parks, Recreation and Culture Department from 2009 to 2010, it reopened for public events in 2011. Today the building offers rental space for receptions, gatherings, and private events. The Entire Facility spans 30 by 71 feet and accommodates up to 150 seated or 200 standing guests. The Heritage Room — which opens to the East and West Galleries, each measuring 26 by 23 feet — seats up to 32 per gallery. • Spaces for 200 Guests

Stenton is an 18th-century colonial mansion in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood, built and passed down through six generations of the Logan family beginning with James Logan, a prominent colonial figure and confidant of William Penn. The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in Pennsylvania has stewarded the property since 1899, and the City of Philadelphia has charged the organization with preserving Stenton as a National Historic Landmark. The house retains period rooms furnished with the Logan family's own collection, spanning William and Mary through Chippendale styles, along with early American textiles and a c.1730 portrait of James Logan attributed to Gustavus Hesselius displayed on the stair landing. Behind the mansion, a Colonial Revival garden offers a landscaped setting that reinterprets an 18th-century garden in the tradition of Deborah Logan's own stewardship. Beyond its exhibitions and educational programming, Stenton is available for private rentals, hosting customized tours, private parties, picnics, and photography and film shoots on its grounds. Renters have access to designated areas of the historic mansion and its landscaped grounds, set against the backdrop of one of Philadelphia's oldest surviving colonial estates.

The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley sits on 214 acres in Winchester, Virginia, making it the largest green space in the city and pairing a 50,000-square-foot museum building — designed by architect Michael Graves — with the historic Glen Burnie House and six acres of formal gardens. Glen Burnie House, built in 1794, was transformed into a refined home by Julian Wood Glass Jr. and R. Lee Taylor beginning in the 1950s before the museum itself opened in 2005 to share their collection with the public. For private events, the museum offers a range of indoor and outdoor spaces suited to gatherings of different sizes and styles. The beautifully renovated Glen Burnie House, with its formal Drawing Room, Library, and adjacent Terrace, suits an intimate dinner or cocktail reception, with access extended to the surrounding garden rooms. The Glen Burnie Gardens themselves offer settings from the Grand Allee to the more intimate Water Garden for ceremonies and receptions. Inside the museum, the wood-beamed Reception Hall and adjoining lobby and hallways can host larger cocktail-style events, while the Truist Learning Center and Carriage House Classroom provide smaller spaces for meetings, workshops, and luncheons. The museum is a site-only rental, so caterers, tents, and event equipment are arranged through outside vendors, including members of the Shenandoah Wedding Professionals group that the museum regularly partners with.
