Bluff View Art District is a family-owned arts neighborhood perched on the bluffs above the Tennessee River in downtown Chattanooga, spanning a block and a half of the city's first art district. Dr. Charles and Mary Portera began the district's revitalization in the early 1990s, purchasing its first building in 1991, now home to Rembrandt's Coffee House and River Gallery, and the district has since grown into a cluster of restaurants, galleries, and gardens set among renovated historic mansions. Renaissance Commons offers a set of mahogany-paneled rooms, including one with a hand-tiled copper fireplace, suited to weddings, receptions, and corporate meetings. Built in 2016, the property centers on an 8,000-square-foot Grand Hall built with wood harvested and milled on-site, and its grounds include a Muscadine vineyard, a pond, and a covered bridge. Four ceremony sites give couples a mix of indoor and outdoor settings: the Vine Arbor, tucked among natural muscadine vines; the Upper Lawn, set beside the vineyard with sweeping valley views; the Lower Lawn, a quiet forest setting suited to more personalized layouts; and the Grand Hall itself, which doubles as a climate-controlled backup for outdoor ceremonies. Our stunning formal dining and entertainment room, which was built by the King Family in 1810, is part of the final enlargement that was added to the home to create the structure that is now known as King Manor. There are genuine Federal Period design components in the space, which were meant to produce a warm, bright environment in an era before electric lights, as well as great natural acoustics for music performance. Meetings, tiny wedding ceremonies, book readings, recitals, and other small private events are all possible in this space. Country Club of Culpeper has served the Culpeper, Virginia community since 1954, when the Tolson family donated 58 acres of land to found the club.
