The gardens are the heart of the venue, featuring exotic flora, aquatic gardens stocked with koi, a Black Swan Fountain, an Angel Garden, and free-roaming peacocks throughout the grounds. Rippon Lodge is a Prince William County historic site built circa 1747 for Richard Blackburn, making it one of the oldest surviving homes in the county. Set on 43 acres above the Potomac River, the property includes formal gardens, walking trails, and the Blackburn and Atkinson family cemetery, with a history that spans colonial tobacco production, Revolutionary War-era politics, and a family connection to George Washington's nephew by marriage. The home was updated in a Colonial Revival style beginning in 1923 and remained with descendants of its original builder until Prince William County acquired it in 2000. For events, Rippon Lodge offers grounds rental with vast lawns and outdoor gardens overlooking the Potomac River, suited to weddings and receptions of up to 150 to 200 guests under large reception tents. Music is permitted, and couples may bring in a caterer of their choice, with wine, beer, and champagne allowed under proper permits. Oliver's Carriage House is a historic event venue set in Columbia, Maryland, within a two-story stone structure that dates to the early 1800s. Originally built as the barn and stables for Oakland, a large Howard County estate, the building was acquired by the Kittamaqundi Community in 1972 and thoughtfully renovated by 1977 — adding new flooring, lofted spaces, finished woodwork, and two stone fireplaces that now anchor both levels. The venue accommodates up to 125 guests and offers a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor settings. Inside, exposed wooden beams, original stone walls, and fireplace surrounds lend a warm and distinctive character that sets it apart from conventional banquet spaces. Outside, the Sacred Garden — completed in 2014 — provides a landscaped ceremony setting with a pond and waterfall, a labyrinth, an archway, and ample seating, all within a tree-lined natural landscape. Prince William, Virginia's Bel Air 1740 is a sophisticated, new English garden venue that is located approximately 25 minutes south of Washington, DC in Prince William. Beloved Bel Air is a private 25 acre enclave of spectacular rural beauty nestled in the heart of a bustling urban region with easy access to Uber / taxi service as well as a wide variety of hotels, restaurants, and other services. Because of its beautiful rolling fields, elegant lawns, and lovely English gardens, Bel Air 1740 is a beautiful venue for indoor and outdoor receptions, pictures, and ceremonies. It also has a new Wedding Barn for ceremonies and receptions. The 7000 square foot climate controlled wedding barn has a capacity of 150 guests (with a permit, it may accommodate up to 200+ guests). A wheelchair accessible facility on a single level has been constructed. An imposing great hall with 25 foot ceilings and a cutting edge theatrical sound and lighting system are among the many highlights of the barn. The barn is equipped with two large ready rooms, a huge warming kitchen, and a wide covered terrace that can be enclosed with glass panels and heated during the colder months. Outdoor ceremonies and cocktail receptions can be held in a variety of locations on the picturesque grounds and against the historic Bel Air Manor House background. The Old Manassas Courthouse is a restored 19th-century courthouse at the corner of Grant Avenue and Lee Avenue in Old Town Manassas, Virginia. Built as Prince William County's fifth courthouse, the building served as the county seat from 1894 until 1982 before being restored and reopening to the public in 2001. Upstairs, the original courtroom has been rehabilitated into a ballroom that hosts meetings, receptions, and private celebrations for up to 100 guests, with tables and chairs provided.
