The Delmare family established the winery nearly 40 years ago, drawing on Marialisa Delmare's family farming history that traces back to 1571. After beginning among 90-year-old vines in California's Santa Cruz Mountains, the family relocated to Virginia in 1998 in search of a family-friendly environment for their twelve children, several of whom helped plant the original vineyards. Now celebrating 25 years of production, the winery is led by two of the Delmare children, Kelly and Teresa, continuing the multi-generational operation. Harden on the site of the former Delmar Gardens Amusement Park, the OKC Farmers Public Market is Oklahoma City's oldest event venue and the only one in the city listed on the National Register of Historic Places. By 1747, the Moravian settlement here operated 35 different crafts and industries, including mills, tanneries, and textile operations powered by the creek.
